Mental Health Panel Reports 2025
The data collected within the Digital Panel are continuously analyzed and summarized, among other things, as brief reports on mental health in the German general population, which are made available to the public.
The 2025 report focuses on the positive and negative dimensions of mental health. The positive dimension was assessed through life satisfaction and psychological well-being. Depression, anxiety, and stress symptoms represented the negative dimension. The main findings show that life satisfaction and psychological well-being are relatively high among many people. Regarding the negative dimension, stress symptoms occur most frequently, followed by symptoms of depression and anxiety symptoms. On average, these values are still within the “normal” range, but there are also many people who exhibit elevated issues.

Due to the timeliness of the topic of “Social Media”, a further report was published at the end of the year. This report focuses on online activity among the German general population. Nearly every respondent used social media in their daily life and spent an average of more than 3 hours a day on these platforms. About one third of respondents exhibited pronounced addictive symptoms that can impair mental health.
